Can I run as part of a team for my organization?
Yes! Street Beat 5K does have an option where you can run as part of a team to help benefit your charitable organization or group. If you have 10 or more teammates, we’ll set up a donations page for your team to promote and receive donations for your efforts. 100% of all donations made through your team will go directly to your non-profit organization. What do I receive for running?
All registrants will receive their timing bib, a Street Beat 5K participant shirt and a participant medal. Prizes and other prospective sponsor gifts are currently being sought and more information will be provided through the newsletter as it becomes available. Water and fruit will be available to all racers.
Are there are limited number of runners allowed at the Street Beat 5K?
There is no limit for runners, and we encourage everyone to join!
Is the event timed?
Yes, the Street Beat 5K will be a timed event by RaceMakers Productions, but will also provide a fun, family-friendly experience for participants of all ages and athletic abilities.
Are walkers welcome at Street Beat 5K?
We gladly welcome walkers to the Street Beat 5K. As a courtesy, we ask that walkers remain toward the end of the starting line.
May I bring a stroller to the event?
We are proud to host a family-friendly event, and welcome strollers. We ask that participants bringing strollers remain toward the end of the starting line as a courtesy to other runners.
Is there an age limit to register?
There is no age limit. Younger runners are welcome and encouraged to participate. If the participant is younger than 18 years of age, we ask that a parent or guardian sign their waiver.
Where can I park?
Participants may park at Circle Centre Mall, or street parking where available. Additional parking is available at the underground facility at the White River State Park, which can be accessed from Washington Street. Participants who choose to park on the IUPUI campus should use the Gateway Garage (hourly rates apply) to avoid ticketing/towing.
What is the refund policy?
Upon registration you will be asked to direct your donation to continuing the research for best practices in health and wellness of our musical athletes. In the event you cannot participate or the event is cancelled, your registration will still be directed to Drum Corps International Marching Music Health & Wellness Project. No refunds will be given.
What is the weather policy?
In the event of inclement weather, The event may be cancelled. These is no rain date, and the registration fee will be donated to Drum Corps International Marching Music Health & Wellness Project at the time of registration. There are no refunds, as your gracious donations are necessary in continuing the research in protecting young musical athletes across the nation and around the world.
In case of inclement weather after the race has begun, there will be volunteers to direct racers to safety in nearby shelters, garages and buildings. A weather plan will be available at check-in for anyone requesting information.
If I can’t participate, can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes. Each participant must have a registered BIB in order to be a part of the Street Beat 5K. If you register and then pass your BIB to someone else, that is acceptable, but the donation will not be re-directed; it remains with the Drum Corps International Marching Music Health & Wellness Project.
